ABSTRACT

The Manzanilla Formation Trinidad provides an opportunity to trace the development of stratigraphic thought from as early as 1860 to the present. It provides great outcrops which when combined with subsurface data allows us to decipher space and time complexities using multiple stratigraphic methods.

Using design thinking we will integrate various local and regional field studies by previous workers. We will examine thought-provoking analyses such as word cloud mapping of the literature and combine them with outcrop observations and measurements.

This discussion will present an Ichnofossil study done in 1990 on the Manzanilla outcrops near Claxton Bay, ideas why the Manzanilla Bay outcrops do not fully describe the range of characteristics of this formation and a brief introduction to river capture and the tectonic influence on the Manzanilla sediments supply margin. We expect a lively discussion.
