In June, T&T was brushed by Tropical Storm Bret, which left thousands of homes in south
and central Trinidad flooded and severely damaged. Preparedness and management of the
disaster has left much to be desired by all government agencies involved. Prior to the storm,
all platforms and rigs on the east coast were evacuated of non-essential personnel. In total,
over 100 helicopter flights were recorded on June 19th. No injuries to people or damage to
these structures were reported.
